By Train

The easiest solution is to reach Karlsruhe by train and from Karlsruhe main station take a tram to Bad Herrenalb. For regional and long distance train visit the website of the German railway. The regional tram connection S1 (direction Bad Herrenalb) departs from the platform D of the Karlsruhe main station (Karlsruhe Hauptbahnhof) forecourt and runs from every 30 minutes to every hour from early morning until night. The train trip takes 30',  the fare (as of April 2018) is 4,90€ and your destination is the last stop: Bad Herrenalb. For local transport timetables and further information visit From the station to the "Haus der Kirche", the hotel and conference venue, is a 15' walk.

By Air

Those flying to Germany will probably choose to fly to:

  • Frankfurt International Airport. This airport has a long-distance train station (Frankfurt Flughafen Fernbahnhof). High speed trains (variable fares starting from 19€, can be booked here) depart every hour from the airport to Karlsruhe main station (Karlsruhe Hauptbahnhof). The ride takes 1 hour. All trains are endowed with free wi-fi and have a restaurant and cafe on board. From Karlsruhe to Bad Herrenalb: see By Train above.
  • Stuttgart International Airport. Reaching Karlsruhe from Stuttgart International airport takes overall about 1h 30' (fare about 20€) and requires commuting at Stuttgart main station (Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof). The website of the German railway can be consulted for timetables and booking. First take the light train S3 (direction Backnang) at the Stuttgart Airport/Fair station (Stuttgart Flughafen/Messe) and get out at Stuttgart main station (Stuttgart Hauptbahnhof). Then, take the Intercity train direction Karlsruhe main station (Karlsruhe Hauptbahnhof). From Karlsruhe to Bad Herrenalb: see By Train above.

By car

Bad Herrenalb can be easily accessed by car (1h 40' from Frankfurt international airport and 1h 30' from Karlsruhe international airport according to Google Maps) and parking slots are available at the conference venue and hotel "Haus der Kirche". Traffic jams are to be expected in the Frankfurt and Stuttgart neighborhoods.
